The 2020 Vietnam Sustainability Forum (VSF-2020), co-organized by the Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts (AVSE Global) and the Academy of Policy and Development, will take place on 23–24 March 2020 in Hanoi, Vietnam. It aims at providing an international exchange platform for global leaders and stakeholders (policymakers, academics, businesses, entrepreneurs, and NGOs) to present and discuss worldwide initiatives, practices and visionary trends about sustainability. The ultimate goal is to achieve the long-lasting development of an inclusive and equitable society whereby prosperous growth goes together with a sustainable environment.
Researchers and academics are invited to submit their full papers for presentation at the symposium. The Scientific Committee encourages submissions of research and policy-oriented papers on various topics related to sustainability, which include, but not limited to:

Tom Kompas is a Professor of Econmics, the Foundation Director of the Australian Centre for Biosecurity and Environmental Economics (ACBEE) and one of four Chief Investigators in the Centre of Excellence for Biosecurity Risk Analysis (CEBRA) at the University of Melbourne. He has dedicated much of his recent time and work to public policy in Australia and the region. Until recently, he was a part-time Senior Economist at the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics (ABARE), a Commonwealth Environment Research Facilities (CERF) project leader on biosecurity and Editor-in-Chief of the Australian Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics. In 2012, Tom became Editor-in-Chief of Asia and the Pacific Policy Studies, President of the newly-formed Asia and Pacific Policy Society and Publisher of APPS Policy Forum. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia. Tom’s research specialises in applied economic dynamics and natural resource and environmental economics. His bioeconomic modelling has been published in the world’s leading international journals and his current work focuses on the major biosecurity issues in Australia and internationally. In 2009, Tom received the ‘CSIRO Medal for Research Achievement’, in 2004, the ‘Crawford Award for Research Excellence’ from ABARE, and in 2011 the ‘Eureka Prize for Water Research and Innovation’. In 2009, Tom was a recipient of the University’s highest award for teaching, the ‘Vice Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching’. He has been awarded several national research grants on topics such as sustainability, urbanization, energy, and climate change. He served as a lead author for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), a coordinating lead author for the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES), a director for Inclusive Wealth Report 2018 (IWR 2018), an editor of “Economics of Disasters and Climate Change”, “Environmental Economics and Policy Studies”, and “Resource and Energy Economics” and is the author of "Technology, Natural Resources and Economic Growth: Improving the Environment for a Greener Future" and editor of "The Routledge Handbook of Environmental Economics in Asia". He was the co-chair the Scientific Committee of the 2018 World Congress of Environmental and Resource Economists. George is Professor of Financial Economics. He joined the department of Accounting, Finance and Economics in September 2012 as Senior Lecturer. His main teaching interests include money, banking and financial economics. His main research interests include energy economics, financial economics, business cycles and tourism economics. He has published in a number of internationally recognised academic journals including the Journal of International Money and Finance, Energy Economics, Energy Journal, Economics Letters, Journal of Empirical Finance, Annals of Tourism Research and Journal of Travel Research, among others. He acts as a reviewer for a number of highly ranked academic journals, including Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, Energy Economics, Energy Journal, Journal of Banking and Finance and Economics Letters.
